A Snapshot of Your Day
As the General Ledger & Closing Function Lead, you will take ownership of implementing and improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for your function while collaborating closely with the ASC Manager to enhance the overall performance of the Accounting Service Centre. You will ensure your team operates efficiently through ongoing innovation in processes and technology. Additionally, you will mentor and support team members in their career development, fostering strong teams and placing top talent in various initiatives. Your role also involves actively listening to stakeholder requests and managing complex operational issues while leading finance transformation projects across the organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Take ownership of implementing and maintaining global and local accounting policies, focusing on General Ledger and Closing processes.
- Coordinate the preparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with IFRS, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and strict deadlines.
- Proactively identify service delivery issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives in finance transformation projects, including Mergers and Acquisitions and ERP migrations.
- Mentor and develop team members, encouraging effective communication and collaboration with internal and external collaborators.
- Contribute to standardizing and automating workflows and processes within the General Ledger & Closing function and across the organization.
- Invest in personal and team development by seeking feedback, embracing a learning approach, and encouraging positive relationships with collaborators.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business administration or related field. Education as a professional accountant is preferred.
- Min of 7 + years of experience in operational accounting, ideally in the field of General Ledger & Closing Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant Shared Service Center Finance Leadership, demonstrating success in leading teams through change management processes. Entrepreneurial approach and enthusiasm for driving finance transformation through change management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong passion for organization, process improvement and structure. Experience of working in a truly multicultural working environment.
- End-to-end understanding of business processes in SAP. IFRS and local GAAP accounting knowledge.
- You are open and communicate in nature as well as fluent in English.
