A Snapshot of your Day

The Project Manager manages, with full responsibility, the scope, schedule and budget of Research and Development projects. They drive the development of products, solutions and/or services that need to be on time and competitive in the market place and/or drives research that ensures Siemen Energy’s technological lead position.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will engage stakeholders to identify project scope and communicate requirements to project teams. You will initiates the project in agreement with the Product & Portfolio Managers concerning the project targets and overall boundaries
  • You will collaborate with Technical Leads and Resource Owners to create project plans in Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and manage the project throughout the Product Development Process (PDP) within the defined requirements. You are fully accountable for the delivery of the defined scope.
  • You execute the project within the approved boundaries (e.g. User Requirements Specification, functionality, product target costs, project cost, time, quality, customer satisfaction) and lead the project execution and coordinate multiple functions including engineering, business controlling, quality, supply chain, manufacturing and other interfaces as required.
  • You ensure business success and satisfaction of the customer ensuring professional stakeholder management and identify Project KPI’s, determines and manages an effective communication plan to report project status and forecast, while acting as the single point of contact for stakeholder queries
  • You represent the project at “OBEYA" meetings to negotiate resource capacity & project priority and act as an Entrepreneur throughout project execution by being proactive in identifying opportunities or hurdles, and ensure timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary.
  • You balance the project scope through Change Request Management and manage risk by devising suitable strategies for risk mitigation based on knowledge of business risk appetites.
  • You coach, lead, and motivate the team, even when faced with unexpected challenges, and identify, recognize, and congratulate strong performances by the team, while taking action upon seeing areas for improvement.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience or 8+ years of a combination of Project Management and relevant Technical Lead or equivalent work required; those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level. Strong leadership skills, self motivated drive, and passion for ownership culture
  • Experience in excellence areas of Project Management incl. Lean and Agile methods; Experience developing, monitoring, and control project plans in an engineering environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of turbomachinery products, technology, and product development practices; RDPM certification, PMP certification, or recognised equivalent preference.
