A Snapshot of your Day

As a Quality Manager in the Gas Services Controls (GS NA CD PM) organization, there is no such thing as a typical day. After all, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and controlling the quality aspects of a large Nuclear Modernization Project in Canada. Your role will be to ensure we conform to the unique quality standards associated with a nuclear project, specifically N299 & N286, from responding to customer issues to coordinating the engineering efforts to checking on the purchasing and manufacturing, there’s a lot to be done to ensure the project is executed to the required standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

This role is for Quality Management In Projects (QMIP):

  • Establish and track Quality KPIs.
  • Assist in identifying and developing lean measures for productivity enhancement.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for any non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to help ensure standards are maintained for products and services provided.
  • Analysis customer feedback and provide this information to the Head of EQS and Sales.
  • Conduct audits on all stages of a project’s lifecycle to determine process improvements and correct any non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain essential management reports in accordance with Siemens Energy and industry standards.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, gloves, and/or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance/Auditor role or equivalent Military experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Office 365 software (to include Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience in Lean projects.
  • Experience in Nuclear Power Plant Operations.
  • Experience in maintaining a quality management system iaw ISO 9001.
  • Knowledgeable of Power Plant Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems.
  • Effective communication with personnel at all levels of the organization!
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with little supervision. Excellent prioritization and time management!
  • Authorized to legally work in the US and Canada.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Knowledge of Canadian Nuclear Quality Standards (CSA 299)
  • Lead auditor in Nuclear Operations
  • Extensive knowledge of quality standards, such as ASME Section III, NQA-1, ISO-9001, and 10CFR50 Appendix B, for their application to the Quality Assurance Program and supply base
  • Current or previous Certified NQA-1 Lead Auditor with extensive experience as a lead auditor and relevant experience must include leading, presenting and defending independent assessments
  • Current or previous quality control certifications/qualifications (such as ANSI N45.2.6 Level II and Level III certifications)
