A Snapshot of Your Day
You will serve as a steam turbine Design Drafter to becoming proficient as a Lead Design Drafter for our industrial service business. Collaborating with a team of experienced engineers, drafters, marketing, and supply chain personnel. You will develop and implement engineered designs and solutions to help our customers meet their challenges for operating plant improvements and carbon-reduction initiatives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Generate detailed models and drawings of complex steam turbine products, review, mark-up and check detail drawings, layouts, bills of material, part numbers and other drawings.
- Process design changes with engineering, manufacturing engineering, machinist, assembler, and supplier consultation as needed, using established Product Lifecyle Management procedures.
- Consult frequently with project manager, project engineer, design engineer, design drafting, marketing & sales and operations.
- Act as a liaison with factory and supplier network and other internal customers concerning drawings, including work assignments to overseas support center.
- Overtime to meet on time delivery needs of the various projects, orders and quote requests.
- Occasional travel to other SST (Small Steam) offices is required.
What You Bring
- AAS/AOS degree
- Preferred minimum 3+ years of experience relating to drafting
- NX & AutoCad Mechanical software proficiency is essential, along with a high level of competency in all Microsoft Windows products
- Good knowledge of basic mechanical drafting principles and techniques, including working with tight toleranced parts.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, detail oriented and ability to prioritize work and multitask effectively.
