A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a versatile leader with robust experience in purchasing, operations, storage, or transportation for this position. The perfect candidate shows strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and extensive background in supply chain, operations, and outsourced logistics to achieve business goals. Responsibility also includes all logistics activities, including inbound and outbound shipping, product packaging, and 3PL management, ensuring operations are integrated with business requirements and providing outstanding service to customers and operational teams. This hire will work with the Head of Large Generators and assist national rail carriers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Oversee every aspect of warehousing operations, encompassing receipt, storage, inventory supervision, and shipment (both entering and exiting outbound).
  • Lead and evaluate third-party logistics (3PL) provider to ensure service levels and all business requirements are consistently met.
  • Integration with procurement organizations to ensure activities/deliveries related to warehousing and logistics operations are always aligned to the organization business plans and inventory targets.
  • The ability to maintain effective relationships with national rail carriers, ensuring optimal transportation agreements and services are provided.
  • Serve multiple customers and operational teams, providing tailored solutions and outstanding service.
  • Drive operational excellence and cost efficiency through continuous process improvements, lean methodologies, and alignment of KPIs to the developed strategy.
  • Develop and implement the best practices in logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, and high performance with the procurement and operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • 15 or more years of experience working in a related field, including 5 years in a leadership capacity. Candidates with more experience can be considered at a higher level.
  • Proven leadership experience in procurement, operations, warehousing, or logistics environments.
  • Efficiently collaborates with third party providers like 3PL and logistics partners.
  • Outstanding communication with the ability to engage and assist various clients and interdisciplinary groups, involving interactions with national railroad companies or significant transportation services.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and leading 3PL and master service agreement contracts.
  • Consistent history of improving operations through lean methodologies and aligning critical metrics with strategic goals.
  • Analytical approach with problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience in high-velocity, customer-focused environments.
  • 10 to 15% of travel is required.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
