A Snapshot of Your Day
On a normal day, you will be involved in the design of HW elements for the control technology of energy generation units. It is your responsibility to plan the physical implementation of the control system (electrical cabinet drawings, electrical connections, network topology connections) within the specified time after the analysis of the input information, in compliance with the preliminary requirements and international standards.
As a HW designer of a critical infrastructure, you contribute to the uninterrupted availability of industrial and residential energy supply to users.
You will be in daily contact with the international participants responsible for other functions involved in the project, the representative of the client, and the representatives of other companies influencing the project. You will be part of an international engineering team in which you will work together with colleagues from Germany, Portugal and India to achieve common goals.
How You'll Make an Impact
- You will be involved in the design of I&C HW systems for new power plant projects or power plants to be renovated.
- In the case of new power plants, your task is to be able to operate the pre-configured functions of the power plant unit (Gas turbine, Steam turbine) ordered by the customer by means of a control system designed for the individual unit. To speed up your planning, you need to use predefined patterns for both overview design and wiring plans.
- In the case of power plant projects to be renovated, the functionality of the existing power plant must be ensured by the new control system, for which you need to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the available documentation and take into account the individual conditions of the power plant. Then, during the design process, flexible solutions are available in relation to newly installed power plants, in compliance with international design guidelines.
- The control cabinets completed after design and the functions implemented in them can be tested in laboratory conditions at the place of normal work.
- You can participate in the professional installation and quality assurance of the completed and tested control technology system anywhere in the world.
- The new power plant control technology system designed by you allows for the complex control of the energy network, which is built up of a mix of modern, "green" energy sources and traditional, fossil energy production units.
- The system you designed is safe for both human life and industrial equipment, while maximizing the power efficiency of power plant units, and minimizing emissions even in the case of fossil fuels.
What You Bring
- Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical engineering
- Confident knowledge in the design of industrial control cabinets
- Theoretical knowledge of industrial control systems
- Knowledge of EPLAN P8, EPLAN Pro Panel or COMOS
- Interest in working in the field of power plant control engineering, including PLC-based systems, analogue wiring circuits, grounding and shielding solutions.
- Solution-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, active listening and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect with clients around the world, with intercultural sensitivity and flexibility in understanding and meeting their needs.
