A Snapshot of Your Day
We’re looking for passionate engineers with proven background in Gas Turbine combustion to join the LGT Combustion Module (MOD CB) team as aero designers able to perform CFD and other analysis for all combustion system developments including hydrogen and special fuels developments. As a member of the multinational and multidisciplinary team, you would collaborate with team members worldwide on various interdisciplinary topics such as mechanical development and thermos-acoustics. You would invent aero compositions of combustion systems and assist in validating the same!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and complete the development of combustion aero concepts from initial and detailed creations.
- Execute analyses to down-select new design solutions, to understand the impact of different design solutions on the air mixing fuel, emissions, performance, and dynamics.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Higher degree can be used in lieu of experience.
- Must have [3] years of experience with the following skills: Understanding of Thermo acoustic behavior of combustion systems, Ability to predict, analyze, and design damping system to prevent operational instability. Understanding of computational methods applied in combustion simulations, realizing and selecting the method and software depending on the project’s time line; experience with engine performance (efficiency, emission, …) as well as details of combustion behavior (physical and numerical turbulent properties, un-mixedness, temperature fluctuations, flashback propensity); advanced combustion simulation methods, software and coding skills to be able to write customized post processing software suites.
- Candidates with more years of experience can be considered at a higher level.
- Requires global travel up to 20%.
