A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a Field Engineer or Technician specialized in steam turbine control systems to join Siemens Energy’s Latin America regional team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of energy generation projects for major clients, involving commissioning, modernization, maintenance, and emergency support of turbine control systems. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with global engineering teams, and contribute directly to the region’s energy security.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Commissioning of steam turbine control systems, supervising tests and validations, and ensuring smooth transition to operation.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of turbine control systems, providing technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Real-time monitoring and performance analysis, generating reports to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Training and development of operations and maintenance teams, fostering continuous learning and best practices.
  • Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, including manuals, procedures, and reports.


What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or technical qualification in Automation, with proven experience in projects, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems for power generation.
  • Strong expertise with Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400, S7-1500, PCS7), Profibus/Profinet protocols, overspeed protection devices, vibration monitoring, and interpretation of electrical diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with actuators, steam turbine control valves, and speed governors.
  • Preferred experience with PLCs from other manufacturers (GE Mark V/VI, Schneider) and integration projects using WinCC.
  • Familiarity with parameterization and testing software such as STEP 7, TIA Portal, PCS 7, Studio 5000, Proficy, Woodward ToolboxST, BN3500, Bently Nevada, and WinCC.
  • Intermediate English and Spanish, enabling technical reading, reporting, and collaboration with international teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% (50% domestic, 50% international).
