How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Be the point of contact for the I&C / Electrical equipment Global Commodity Manager in developing procurement strategies and project planning, supplier identification, capability assessment audits, driving standards and bringing in new I&C / Electrical equipment related technology.
  • Typical products are Thermocouples, LV Motors, Switchgears, Battery Storage Solutions etc. Siemens Energy implements a wide range of different products with worldwide applied codes and standards.
  • Improve related technical knowledge and expertise of the global supply quality network by coordinating and leading a global community of Supply Quality Engineers in knowledge sharing and training on above mentioned products / technologies.
  • Supplier /Product and Process Qualification: Mostly be the technical Lead, and sometimes the main lead, in multi-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ). Leading includes the planning, tracking, and reporting of project achievements as well as budget and resource needs.
  • Be a key guide in improving and developing strategic Suppliers and supporting critical technical issues by being a creator and owner of a commodity/technology network.

 

 

What You Bring

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or higher in electrical, industrial engineering or a similar subject area. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years professional experience in an area of supplier quality management, procurement, and I&C / Electrical environment.
  • You are familiar with international recognized electrical standards, like UL, IEC and NEMA
  • Experience performing supplier qualification, product/ process qualification & technical supplier development to provide a global quality-assured and efficient supply base.
  • Experience in leading projects and running virtual multi-functional teams in an international environment. You're a self-starter, driven and self-reliant; your organizational, strategic, analytical thinking, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (Domestic & International)
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to either Charlotte, NC or Orlando, FL

Our function "Supplier Quality Development" acts as a support to procurement and manufacturing with preventive and reactive measures. Our team is acting as a global team across divisions and regions providing standards and tools to ensure quality and delivery for all purchased goods. This position directly supports Generation Division projects performed out of Orlando FL, or Charlotte NC. The functional manager and majority of interfaces reside in Germany.
