A Snapshot of Your Day:
A typical day involves participating in project and sales meetings as a core team member, influencing sourcing decisions early to optimize workflows and ensure procurement strategies are embedded from the start of a project. The role also includes coordinating procurement resources, ensuring compliance with sourcing processes, and supporting commodity managers with negotiation strategies on pricing and contracts. Throughout the day, you will spend time serving as the central point of contact for engineering, tender management, and project management when they need support from the procurement team on select projects to ensure alignment and timely execution.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Participates in project/sales meetings as project core team members to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes.
- Ensures proper sourcing and Procurement processes are followed and coordinates all Procurement resources and activities in the project.
- Analyzes customer inquiries during bid preparation / opportunity management phases and exactly understands the customer's functional needs to include (supplier) innovations.
- Supports project calculation with reliable material cost data.
- Analyzes scope of supply and contract agreements and suggest negotiation recommendations.
- Drives Procurement strategies in projects and ensures their implementation.
- Supports the specialist buyers responsible for material fields for contractual and price negotiation.
- Forwards systematically all relevant Procurement related project information.
- Contact point between Procurement resources and other stakeholders in the project (tender management, engineering, project management etc…)
What You Bring:
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
- 8 years relevant work experience in Project Management & Procurement
- Experience in commodity or supply chain management, and contract management
- Solid track record of delivering increased value and significant cost savings for partners and customers through strategic sourcing and supplier analysis.
- Self-motivated and solutions oriented, with a mentality for challenging the status quo while building strong, collaborative relationships across all partner levels.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to influence and challenge cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
- Skilled in market intelligence gathering and presenting commercial insights to internal decision-makers; experienced in evaluating bid packages and driving supplier performance.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
