A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Piping Specialist, you will serve as the technical authority for piping materials, specifications, and components used in complex energy projects. Your day may involve selecting and evaluating piping materials, supporting project teams with technical decisions, reviewing supplier documentation, and collaborating with specialists across piping, stress analysis, process engineering, and steam turbine technologies. By ensuring the right materials and components are selected for the right application, you will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient energy solutions for our customers.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and maintain piping classes, material specifications, and material take-offs (MTOs) for energy projects.
  • Select and validate piping materials, valves, fittings, flanges, and special components based on technical requirements.
  • Evaluate component suitability with regard to pressure, temperature, operating conditions, and service life.
  • Prepare technical documentation for procurement activities, including inquiries, supplier selection, and purchasing support.
  • Review supplier proposals and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to piping designers, installation teams, project engineers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for stress analysis, process systems, steam turbines, and related equipment.
  • Support technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.


What You Bring

  • Secondary school or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience in piping engineering, material engineering, or energy-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piping materials, valves, flanges, fittings, and special piping components.
  • Familiarity with piping standards and codes such as EN 13480, ASME B31.1, and ASME B31.3.
  • Experience working with piping classes, material specifications, MTOs, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions, combined with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication skills and English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Experience with PED, pressure equipment, steam systems, SAP, Teamcenter, or supplier evaluation activities is an advantage.
