A Snapshot of Your Day
As Quality Manager for the Service execution unit in Grid Technologies business area, you will be responsible for supervising and implementing project specific quality programme on our worksites in Canada, as well as maintaining, monitoring effectiveness of the quality related operational procedures and standards applicable to our Integrated Management System.
The duty of Quality Manager in projects will encompass acting and operatively supporting the Project Manager as expert and partner by planning, supervision, ensuring and reporting of appropriate activities regarding nonconformance prevention, assuring compliance with applicable internal and external standards and regulations, effective proceedings (pro-active & re-active) and continuous improvement over the project life cycle.
In partnership with the central QEHS departments and management, you will ensure that the Integrated Management System complies with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards. You will act as the Service group QEHS coordinator for Canada region with direct interface into the North America (NA) hub.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop, implement, maintain and monitor Quality Management System instructions and operational procedures in line with Siemens Energy global standards, local regulations and industry best practice
- Carry out management system effective planning, conduct audits, lessons learned, and continuous improvement activities, assisting with non-conformity root-cause analyses, participating in corrective action proposals, measuring and monitoring supplier quality
- Suggest improvements/modifications to the business process, avoiding any deterioration in efficiency
- Identification of qualification shortcomings and indoctrination of employees regarding quality system
- Interface with customer’s quality representative counterpart in the event of major problems to ensure issues are optimally closed, or as part of job completion customer satisfaction surveys
- Manage all external interfaces with regards to quality matters, e.g. authorities having jurisdiction
What You Bring
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication abilities in French and English.
- This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
- University degree with a major in Quality Management, or Engineering
- Proven experience greater or equal to 3 years in a similar role, preferably in the energy sector.
- Formal training in Management Systems, solid understanding of quality methodologies and tools
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 standard
- Knowledge and/or experience with CSA N299 series quality standard, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is an asset
- Good negotiation, communication, training, team management and conflict resolution skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach
- Willingness to travel mostly domestically and occasionally international
- Valid driving license
