A Snapshot of Your Day
The Project Manager will be responsible for efficiently handling a portfolio of projects with a volume ranging in multimillion USD that includes dealing successfully with customers and internal stakeholders! They will develop a working understanding of the organization, policies, procedures, business systems, and tools as they relate to projects, as well as key subcontractors and suppliers. The PM will have accountability for the management of the scope, schedule, budget, and risk for the supply of Industrial Steam Turbines, and related systems to ensure successful project execution with predictable outcomes from order entry through the warranty period!

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead sales to execution turnover meetings, evaluate turnover documents and project requirements
  • Analyze contractual special requirements, review contract specifications and schedule/reporting requirements
  • Own the development of project plans activity to ensure effective execution by the project team and supervise progress to ensure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan
  • Establish effective communication with partners regarding regular project updates, design reviews, factory testing, and witness points.
  • Coordinate preparation and execution of engineering schedules, and apply financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Prepare or coordinate the preparation of progress billings, pursue timely payments from the customer, and authorize payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project reviews, and acceptance testing, handle the completion of all close-out documentation such as As-built drawings, system operating instructions, transfers or excess materials, billings, collections and payments, and all project records.
  • Proactive management of Contract, Claim, and Risk. Development of opportunities for Change orders and negotiations with customers. Identify potential problems and device contingency plans
  • Develop and deliver monthly project reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal/external partners.
What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)
  • Experience as PM dealing with Power generation equipment manufacturing and supply, coordination of planned & unplanned outages, warranty issues, and project closure.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the heavy equipment industry, preferably in the Energy sector. Experience handling customers as the single point of contact for all project-related topics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, mathematical, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in leading Industrial Steam Turbine projects (preferred)
  • Technical knowledge of Steam-Turbine manufactured by Siemens Energy in Goerlitz, Germany is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, etc.
  • Must possess influence skills to deal successfully with matrix reporting structure
  • 20% travel- PM may need to travel to project sites to participate in customer meetings, project reviews, installation reviews, etc.
  • PMP or IPMA certification is highly desirable! Opportunity to complete the certification once in the role.
  • These projects typically contain appreciable and sophisticated design engineering content and; a proficient understanding of the overall design, installation, and operational complexities of steam turbines, generators, gas turbines, and their auxiliary systems.
