We have an exciting new opportunity which represents a new growth period for Siemens Energy Grid Technologies and offer excellent opportunities to be part of our Order Execution team based in Newcastle. During your 12 month internship, you will have the opportunity to experience and contribute to the Order Execution unit and have experience working with several key areas: Sales, Bid, and Commercials. Below is an outline of what you can expect from your daily involvement in the team:

Order Management: Join the Operations Team and contribute to the critical task of order delivery. Keep an eye on active orders to identify and address any potential issues or hold-ups. Sit in on logistics meetings to fully understand the complexities of order fulfilment and dispatch. Assist with the accurate entry of new orders into the management system. Watch and learn from team interactions with the finance department to confirm the terms and conditions of order payments.


How You’ll Make an Impact

The Intern Project Manager/Project Engineer will be part of the Order Management Team within the Grid Technologies - Order Execution Organisation. You will:

  • Demonstrate ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects/orders
  • Assist the efforts of the Project Manager (PM) to execute project/order deliveries for a wide range of transmission products including GIS, Circuit Breakers, Transformers etc on time delivery
  • Assist the efforts of the PM for the management of local subcontractors and overseas factories from Order through delivery up to handover in accordance with the client schedule and quality requirements and always ensuring strict adherence to client & Siemens Energy EHS requirements
  • Assist the efforts of the PM for working with finance/ commercial team on a regular basis to ensure accurate reporting of financial/ commercial metrics
  • Assist the efforts of the PM in ensuring all potential opportunities, variations and risks are identified and reported to the Business as soon as possible
  • Use and make available to others knowledge assets to optimise the proposed solution and project costs

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Management, Future Technologies, Environmental Studies
  • Effective problem solving and openness to new ideas

  • Shows positive attitude to learn and take on challenges.
  • Self-starter that works well in a fast-paced environment

Our team is an integral part of the Grid Technologies European Order Execution Unit, tasked with the representation and distribution of Siemens Energy Products throughout the UK and Ireland. We are strategically positioned in Newcastle to effectively manage and support our operations across these markets, as well as teams in Dublin.
