A Snapshot of Your Day
As an M&U Application Engineer, you will lead the way in developing technical solutions for package and controls upgrades for the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine fleet. Your tasks will consist of validating project requirements, pinpointing potential technical risks, and setting project cost budgets. You will cooperate with various interested parties, such as customers, the Regional Sales team, Authorised Project Managers, Project Managers, and more. This position is essential for ensuring smooth project execution and achieving outstanding results.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Define the overall technical scope for requested/proposed upgrades, including Engine, Package Mechanical, Package Electrical, and Controls scopes, along with associated drawing updates for proposals.
- Develop cost budgets for identified technical scopes and, if needed, acquire major equipment vendor quotes by providing necessary engineering specifications.
- Identify, quantify, and develop mitigation plans for technical risks during the bid phase to achieve successful project execution.
- Provide technical comments and exceptions to customer specifications and support clarification meetings as needed.
- Ensure a smooth technical handover of won proposals to the execution team.
- Travel to customer sites to perform site surveys, assessments, customer meetings, and possibly participate in safety discussions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Field or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of applicable experience with Controls or Mechanical Engineering in the oil and gas/power generation industry.
- Proven experience in interpreting and writing engineering/equipment specifications.
- Strong ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to diverse parties with varying technical backgrounds.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with aeroderivative gas turbines is highly desired. Certifications such as BOSIET/CA-EBS/MIST/H2S are a plus.
- Experience with digital tools like Power BI is an advantage.
