A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Logistics Buyer you will be responsible to improve on-time delivery performance and reduce inbound logistic costs across the RT cluster supply chain

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Keep monitoring of inbound logistic costs and timely delivery performance per site, supplier and commodity.
• Benchmark transportation costs charged by suppliers against Siemens Energy Logistics Rate Cards and other forwarding options.
• Follow the tariffs development and make a forecast of transportation costs on quarterly and annual base.
• Develop an action plan for improving of delivery performance, implement this plan in cooperation with cross functional teams.
• Develop action plan for permanent reduction of inbound logistics costs.
• Implement optimization of shipping methods (sea vs air), logistic set-up with subcontractors, less scrapping of pallets etc.
• Ensure suppliers with FCA terms will use the I-LooP tool for transport ordering. Provide these suppliers with guidance and support of i-LooP application.
• Support with expediting of overseas deliveries

What You Bring

• Bachelor`s Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, procurement or supply chain management roles
• Proven track record of improving on-time delivery performance and reducing inbound logistic costs in previous positions
• Familiarity with logistics terms and processes, shipping methods and logistics setups.
• Knowledge of transport ordering tools, such as the I-LooP application, is an advantage
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to travel
• Very good communication skills and proficiency in English
