Lifting CAD Specialist
Join Our LIF Team as a CAD Specialist We invite you to become a part of our LIF team in Construction & Operation, responsible for overseeing offshore lifting operations from planning to execution. Our team collaborates closely with other teams within the Construction department and the Equipment department. We also engage with installation vessels (IV) assigned to the construction phase, focusing on deck layout, IV cranes, the Traverse System, and lifting devices. How to Contribute to Our Vision As a member of our LIF Team, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality, smart, parametric, and simplified 3D models and simulations. These will support the entire mobilization, load-out, and installation operations through detailed visualizations of various logistical operations, including lifting and transportation. You will have opportunities for on-site visits to harbors and project locations to observe real-world operations, gather insights, and refine your animations to accurately reflect practical applications. Role Overview Utilize 3D design software to enable engineering teams to visualize movement sequences, helping to identify potential issues before execution. Create and maintain a comprehensive vessel and equipment library within the LIF team, based on models received from each project. Conduct 3D simulations and animations of load-out and installation operations to identify potential clashes during the design phase. Implement innovative technologies to enhance lifting assessments and improve the visualization and understanding of complex lifting operations. Develop standard templates, drawing standards, 2d dynamic blocks, and workflows to assist team members. Participate in peer reviews to ensure the quality of 3D and 2D models/drawings. Maintain effective collaboration with the internal stake holders regarding vessel, offshore and harbor activities. Upskill the CAD capabilities within the LIF team by providing training and presentations, as well as maintaining and updating the CAD blocks library. What You Need to Make a Difference We are looking for a candidate with a strong sense of ownership, who is self-driven and results-oriented. A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to driving change are essential for this role. We seek a highly skilled CAD designer with extensive experience and a proactive mindset to help develop our department. Qualifications To excel in this role, you should possess a strong blend of technical expertise, creativity, and communication skills. You thrive in a collaborative environment and can translate complex logistical operations into clear, precise, and engaging 3D animations. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, and AutoCAD is required; familiarity with other design software is a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the offshore business, wind industry, sea-fastening, lifting equipment, lifting operations, or a similar field. A practical/technical background is advantageous. Experience in animation and simulation of logistics and technical processes. A solid understanding of mechanical movements, physics-based animations, and character animations. Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and on-site technicians. A proactive and structured approach to problem-solving and project execution. Willingness to travel to harbors and project sites to gain firsthand insights into equipment handling and logistics. Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills. Ability to identify potential risks early and act accordingly. Fluency in English, both oral and written.
