A Proposal Manager is accountable for developing techno-commercial proposals for the IPS Business (globally), owning the process from receipt of the request for quotation, engaging various players in the organization (engineering, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, planning etc.) to provide appropriate inputs to develop the final proposal, structuring the pricing matrix, and progressing the business case for internal approval. A Proposal Manager is also responsible for supporting negotiations with customer and finally upon successful receipt of order perform handover of project-to-project execution team. How You’ll Make an Impact
- Working with Regional Product Development Managers to identify customer’s project requirements related to core engine, power turbine and / or package scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events, as well as, parts sales and field service, coordinating and preparing an integrated proposal strategies aligned with sales strategies to prepare winning bids.
- Developing cost and margin analysis, project, and business risk analysis, bid approval and handover documentation as required by the Business Approval Authorities
- Support the PM@siemens / LOA processes and other Siemens Energy proprietary tools to support delivery of proposals, order acceptance and effective handover to the Project Execution function.
- Develop all type of proposals including large sophisticated proposals to complete lump sum turnkey proposals comprising high level projects execution plan, man- power loading plans, and risk assessments.
- Leadership and influence across cross functional teams & stakeholders to ensure consistent On Time Delivery to the Customer.
- Deliver continuous improvement of internal processes to improve efficiency of bid management.
- The preparation and presentation of proposal documentation for the Product Line, regional entities, and the Customer.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering (Preferred) or Business Administration
- 6+ years of successful experience in Project Management/Sales/Proposals/Application Engineering in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or Service industry; Experience with Gas Turbine preferred.
- Excellent Oral and writing skills in English with internal and external organization.
- Experience in PM@SIEMENS Process, LOA Tool and Other Siemens Energy Internal proprietary tools is a value adder.
- Strong Analytical and Strategic thinker
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to a constantly evolving work environment
- Able to work with minimum guidance
- Travel up to 15%
About the team
The selected person will work jointly with the Aeroderivative Gas Turbines IPS Distributed Team, commercial and technical teams and other support areas of the Company focus on supporting the global IPS sales plan.
