A Snapshot of Your Day

This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity for the Head of Governance Operations Master Data for the Asia Pacific region. As a Team Leader (M2) within the Siemens Energy CFO's Accounting Operations, this position is crucial for leading the regional team and upholding the integrity of financial master data. To achieve this, the role focuses on three core areas: team leadership and performance management, operational oversight of master data governance, and ensuring process compliance and continuous improvement. This structure ensures the team is effectively managed while maintaining high standards for data quality and adherence to financial regulations. Given the focus on leadership and data governance, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing professional teams within a finance or accounting environment. A strong understanding of master data management principles, internal controls, and proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are essential for success in this role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 50% Master Data Governance & Operations
    • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and validation of financial master data (e.g., vendor, customer, general ledger accounts) in ERP systems for the Asia Pacific region.
    • Implement and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity and consistency.
    • Monitor data quality metrics, lead data cleansing initiatives, and resolve data-related issues and escalations.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all master data-related inquiries and projects within the region.
  • 30% Team Leadership & Development
    • Set clear goals and objectives for the Master Data team members to achieve operational results and support business needs.
    • Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of professional-level employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Manage team workload, prioritize tasks, and conduct regular performance reviews to support individual career development.
    • Ensure team adherence to company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • 20% Process Improvement & Compliance
    • Ensure all master data processes comply with internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, and standard accounting practices.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and workflow automation within master data management.
    • Collaborate with internal/external audit and compliance teams to provide necessary documentation and support during financial audits.
    • Prepare and present reports on data quality, team performance, and operational KPIs to senior management.

What You Bring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in a finance or accounting environment, with a significant focus on master data management or data governance.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership or supervisory role, with responsibility for managing and developing a team of professionals.
