A Snapshot of Your Day 
The Strategic Procurement organization for Direct Materials is tasked with developing procurement strategies that establish a global network of high-performing suppliers to support Siemens Energy’s leadership in the energy transition. As the Head of Strategic Procurement for Electrification, Automation & Digitalization (EAD), you are responsible for creating and implementing supply chains and procurement strategies that drive growth and success within the EAD Business. Your role also emphasizes enhancing supplier relationships to deliver additional value beyond traditional cost savings.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Drive the EAD business and emerging technologies at Siemens Energy, leading a global team of approximately 5 Strategic Procurement Specialists (Commodity Managers) to manage an increasing spend year over year and develop a global EAD Commodity expert network
  • Report directly to the Head of Commodity Management for the “Transformation of Industry” business area and participate in the Global Corporate Commodity extended Leadership team, contributing to the success of the EAD business
  • Define competency requirements, address gaps, and implement career path planning for employees, including personal feedback, necessary training, and proactive development into other functions
  • Develop and implement resilient supply chains and procurement strategies, negotiating international and complex Framework Agreements and project contracts within a solution, integration, and turnkey business environment
  • Define and implement productivity programs, measures, and action plans to maximize contributions to targets, aligning with overarching strategies like Fast Forward 2026 or ongoing customer project execution
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers for problem-solving and continuous improvement, partnering with EAD business leaders to address current and future sourcing needs by involving procurement early in the product/solution development process
What You Bring
  • University degree in a technical or business-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Electrical/Mechanical or Industrial Engineering) with many years of experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain, particularly in Project/System Integrator and EPC business environments.
  • Possess extensive leadership experience in the Oil & Gas, Maritime, and Process industries.
  • Demonstrated success in leading international teams, including attracting, developing, and retaining talent, while promoting career planning, mentoring high-potential sourcing professionals, and ensuring adequate training.
  • Recognized as a change agent with a track record of leading organizational transformations and possessing excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively and operate across different cultures, with significant experience working with a global supplier base in a functional matrix environment.
  • Exceptional networking and stakeholder management skills, with a willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% of the time, along with strong analytical capabilities and excellent C-level communication and presentation skills in both German and English.
