HR Advisor

Hybrid working role with mixture of home and site based, with requirement to travel to sites as required. Ideally based on the East of the UK (Lincoln, Hull, Newcastle)

A Snapshot of Your Day

At Siemens Energy limited our Human Resources department supports across the UK & Ireland, with our larger sites located in Hull, Manchester, Lincoln and Newcastle. This Human Resources Consultant role would predominantly support our businesses on the east coast, in particular our Siemens Energy Windpower/Siemens Gamesa (SGRE) business which has a large manufacturing facility in Hull.

The Energy transition is the greatest challenge our generation faces. In the UK & Ireland, we are at the heart of the energy transition and our Human Resources function contributes to the success of our business.

A typical day will involve working with lots of different stakeholders, this could be our HR Business Partners, our specialist HR teams, line managers and employees. You might be supporting a HR Business Partner on business specific projects or change initiatives, ensuring the effective management of a variety of complex cases including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and capability, or taking a leading role in reviewing our policies to ensure they are not only aligned with legislation, but also meet the needs of our current and future business priorities. You will also play an active role in employee relations topics including engagement with our union and employee representative groups. You’ll be part of a fantastic team and each day will be different, with multiple interactions working with lots of different people.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the HR Business Partners to drive our HR priorities
  • Be familiar with your designated business areas and lead business specific projects, consultations, initiatives etc.
  • Work with our employee representatives and unions supporting pay negotiations with our business leaders.
  • Ensure our company policies follow legislation and global instructions and are reflective our values & behaviours.
  • Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR standard process, knowledge sharing within the team to ensure continuous development and improvement in the service offered.
  • Pro-actively engaging with and supporting our line managers with their proficiency in people topics, and providing advice & guidance on case management, improvement projects, employment topics.
  • Support global and UK&I wide central projects and annual activities.
  • Establish excellent relationships and build partnerships with our customers and colleagues.
  • Ensure operational excellence and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Reporting and data analysis.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information is part of the job and it is important that you respect this responsibility in a trustworthy fashion.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar HR role.
  • Excellent knowledge in employment law (UK essential and Irish desirable) and understanding of employee relations topics and procedures.
  • A teammate, with experience in guiding and coaching line managers.
  • Organised and structured approach, with the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
  • Pro-active, with a confirmed solution-orientated attitude.
  • Open and flexible approach to tasks and challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles for the appropriate audience.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in management projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to travel when required to attend meetings and support projects at any of our sites across the UK & Ireland.
  • A post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or degree in HR management is desired.
