A Snapshot of Your Day

Within the global purchasing organization, you will carry out NDT on components for generators, gas, and steam turbines independently and with the help of the supplier. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections in accordance with specifications and for technical and formal review of the documentation. As a rule, NDT is carried out at suppliers' premises. In case find deviations from supplier results, you are responsible for describing these clearly in technical terms, communicating them accordingly and clarifying further measures with the cross-departmental team.

It is possible for the NDT to be carried out automatically at the supplier's premises. In such cases, the recorded data is analyzed on the computer.

How You’ll Make an Impact

•Responsibility for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of non-destructive inspections on centralized gas engines

•Supplier qualification, development and active participation in the quality improvement of suppliers and purchased parts

•Avoiding quality problems by developing preventive measures for suppliers

•Methods for quality assurance and analyzing the causes of defects and initiating appropriate corrective measures together with suppliers

•Implementation of preventive SQM methods and risk management in supplier-related processes, projects and products

•Initiation, control and active tracking of corrective and preventive actions for suppliers

•Proactive collaboration with a global team and internal partners 

•Inspection of automatically captured forging records and data

What You Bring

•Completed technical education, mechanical engineering, or similar

•Certified to ISO 9712 or similar in VT, UT, MT, PT, RT to at least Level II required

•5+ years of NDT experience in forged components, familiar with castings and large steel fabrications. 

•Experienced and Familiar with ultrasonic testing

•Preferably experienced with automated NDT on forged components

•Profound knowledge in the application of quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA is a plus

•Very good collaboration and communication skills required

•Confident handling of MS Office applications, SAP

•Team player, precise work, high level of initiative and flexibility

•Consistent and self-confident appearance

•Constructive collaboration across all levels of a global organization

•Business fluent in English

•Willingness to travel, nationally and internationally
