The role involves engineering control logics and programs for FACTS solutions, requiring expertise in closed-loop control systems and electrical power systems theory. Responsibilities include creating technical user documentation, analyzing power system events, training clients, and collaborating on system development and commissioning, often involving extended site deputations with basic accommodations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Engineering of control logics & programs for different FACTS solutions.. Adequate knowledge on Closed Loop Control systems.
- Creating documents like design reports, test reports and operation & maintenance manuals Read, analyze and interpret power system event records. Impart training to external parties like clients
- Work closely with other team members for development of solutions and testing & commissioning of systems. Be willing to take over roles of other team members if the situation demands. You should have a sound knowledge of electrical power systems theory and practice.
- Understanding the behavior of power systems during transient and sub-transient conditions, different types of FACTS devices and their roles in the power system will be an essential part of the work.
- Knowledge of basic principles of protective relaying, control systems, power electronic devices (like thyristors and IGBTs), power equipment (like power transformers, instrument transformers, capacitors, reactors, circuit breakers)
- Programming tools (e.g., SIMATIC Manager, Python, MATLAB etc). Programmable Logic Controllers like Siemens platforms using SIMATIC TDC)
- Commissioning the FACTS installations at site in India and abroad.
- Usually, the duration for site deputation is 5-6 months continuous. The facilities at site available would be basic in nature. Accommodation and transport will be mostly shared type.
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Masters or equivalent experience of Electrical Engineering
- Proven Experience in FACTS technology
