A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Electrical Engineer for Grid Technologies – Substation, you are responsible for engineering design, technical calculations, and execution support for high‑voltage (HV) substation projects. This role ensures compliance with customer specifications, international standards, and Siemens Energy engineering guidelines, while supporting proposal, design, installation, and commissioning phases.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop primary electrical designs and documentation for AIS/GIS substations up to 500 kV, including SLDs and layout drawings.
- Perform electrical calculations for short‑circuit, load flow, earthing, cable sizing, and auxiliary systems.
- Specify and review high-voltage equipment such as transformers, breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
- Coordinate with civil, secondary, protection, and automation disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
- Provide engineering support through all project phases, including design, testing, construction, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and bid managers to address technical clarifications and ensure document quality.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Around 5 years of experience in HV/EHV substation design, covering AIS and/or GIS systems.
- Good understanding of substation design, high-voltage equipment, and related engineering calculations.
- Proficient in design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD and other engineering software.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in utility, EPC, or OEM settings, with familiarity in protection and control considered an advantage.
