A snapshot of your day

Your day starts by connecting with your Projects and Health & Safety leadership teams, aligning priorities across a portfolio of complex UK transmission and substation projects. You move seamlessly between strategic oversight and hands-on support—reviewing project risks, advising senior leaders, and acting as the escalation point for Health & Safety matters where clarity and confidence are needed most.

Whether engaging with the Contracts Team, Procurement, Operations or JV partners, you ensure expectations are clear and issues are closed effectively. Your main objective is ensuring bids and tenders are accurately reviewed to provide Health & Safety support and are aligned with specific client requirements. You will review performance data and feedback to drive continual improvement and strengthen the Zero Harm culture across the business.

You will manage a small central team of EHS professionals and provide the Head of Health & Safety with support on BMS procedures, contractor audits, site support where necessary, sharing best practice, and ensuring Health & Safety is fully embedded in how Siemens Energy delivers its projects—safely, compliantly and with integrity.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance across complex, highly regulated transmission and substation projects, embedding Siemens Energy's Zero Harm culture.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, client and Siemens Energy requirements, including CDM, through robust governance, audits and contractor assurance.
  • Influence senior leaders, project teams, suppliers and JV partners to integrate Health &Safety into planning, decision-making and project delivery.
  • Develop and monitor Health & Safety strategies, initiatives, KPIs and performance metrics, using insights and lessons learned to drive continual improvement.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through workforce engagement, consultation, best practice sharing and effective incident reporting and investigation.
  • Lead and support a central EHS team while providing expert guidance on BMS procedures, audits, site support and complex Health & Safety matters.

What you'll bring

  • Extensive senior Health & Safety leadership experience (typically 10+ years) within construction, transmission or substation environments.
  • A relevant degree or NEBOSH Diploma, with strong expertise in auditing, incident investigation and Health & Safety management systems.
  • Proven success leading Health & Safety across major infrastructure projects within matrix organisations and highly regulated industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, contractor management, compliance and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A proactive, values-driven approach aligned with Siemens Energy's principles of caring, agility, respect and accountability, with a strong commitment to safety and integrity.
