A Snapshot of Your Day

Imagine being part of an international team of 12 highly skilled engineers as you drive innovation in wind power technology. You’ll be at the forefront of developing and applying a system model framework for Nacelles that integrates geometric designs, FE model pre/post-processing, reduced order modelling and fatigue calculations. The framework consists of several well-defined steps where your contributions will be in ensuring timely delivery and quality on CAD related topics. One such topic is the consolidation and preparation of Nacelle assembly geometry and associated information for succeeding steps in the framework while keeping traceability, repeatability and quality in mind. Another topic is supporting the installation of sensors in the real world and specifying their locations in digital framework. The last example given here is the development of standards and tools that ensure smooth execution and enhanced quality through automated workflows and effective ways of working. All tasks require diligence and proactive communications with stakeholders residing in Denmark, Spain, India and the US. Such stakeholders span wide within the organisation and include people owning specific nacelle components; people dealing with loads and control; people in charge of measurements and instrumentation; and people with hands-on tasks up tower.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Consolidate and communicate large assembly data
  • Prepare simplified geometries and associated data for finite element analysis
  • Develop tools that remove tedious tasks and ensure quality in deliverables
  • Act as a bridge between the CAD and CAE worlds, both in execution tasks and development
  • Coordinate with other design engineers and drive standard ways of working
  • Identify and specify sensor locations in collaboration with other departments

What You Bring

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Proficiency in CAD modelling including 3D component design, large assemblies and perhaps 2D drawings – all preferably in Siemens NX
  • Experience with PLM software and processes – preferably using Teamcenter
  • Literate in scripting languages like Python, or a strong interest to learn that
  • Proactive attitude to leading technical project meetings with many stakeholders to enhance cooperation and coordination
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken, and thrive in a dynamic, international environment

About the Team

Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing wind power technology through innovative system modelling. Our mission is to contribute to the development of robust and high-quality structural components for Nacelles by continuously improve our tools and design practices.
