A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be preparing a full range of large and small products for shipment on a daily basis. Duties will include checking, marking, and recording various amounts of items that are being shipped, as well as securing product and sub components for shipment by rail, road, or truck, and protecting specified surfaces of shipments as required

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Candidate will check order, quantity, and identity of products being shipped
  • You will search up part numbers via computer, and will be pulling ship-along parts to secure for shipment
  • You should be able to line boxes and wrap, bag, cover, or protect specified surfaces as required
  • You will secure items being shipped with blocking, wrapping, banding, covering, or similar work as needed. You will also be expected to install bracing as required
  • Candidate must be capable of constructing shipping containers, requiring the use of small hand tools, saws, nail guns, etc
  • You will move, shift, and align shipments on trucks to allow proper securement
  • You will weigh, mark, stencil, tag, and identify items as required for shipment
  • You will be required to report discrepancies in materials or items to be shipped

Secondary Duties

  • These include keeping immediate work area clean and orderly, and operating lift truck, pallet jack, or similar equipment as required
  • Any additional duties as required

What You Bring (requirements)

  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Capable of working under general direction of supervisor
  • Thorough knowledge of shipping functions and related items
  • Basic carpentry skills with the ability to operate power tools
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office etc)
  • Ability to read sketches and measurements
