A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Bid Manager you will play a key role in the preparation of Technical and Commercial Proposals for New Equipment. You will also be involved in supporting the organization in deal closing and Client opportunity discussions.

You will develop technical solutions using Siemens Energy application tools and processes. In addition, you will also develop commercial offerings within the pricing guidelines and commercial governance requirements of Siemens Energy. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a global team that develops technical solutions and written proposals that instill confidence within Clients, distinguish us favorably from our competition, and win new business for Siemens Energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Review and interpret client RFQs and specifications for rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal compressors, motors) across Hydrogen, Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream applications within the Energy, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical markets.

  • Develop optimized Siemens Energy equipment selections using internal aerodynamic, thermodynamic, rotordynamic, and material selection tools, while ensuring competitive positioning against market alternatives.

  • Lead or contribute to bid strategy development for new turbo opportunities, ensuring technical, commercial, and value-based advantages of Siemens Energy products and services are clearly defined.

  • Coordinate supplier buyouts and negotiations (motors, VFDs, lube oil systems, seal gas panels, static equipment), manage cost analysis, pricing, and cash flow preparation, and ensure high-quality technical and commercial proposals.

  • Integrate multidisciplinary technical activities across regional teams, operations, finance, credit, project scheduling, and field service to identify risks, define mitigation plans, and meet proposal deadlines.

  • Support sales and project execution through client and internal meetings, presentations, kick-offs, clarification discussions, competitive analysis, and by conducting all business with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petrochemical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience), with a minimum of 8 years in a relevant engineering role; higher experience may qualify for a senior level.

  • Experience in roles such as Application, Maintenance, Process, Design, Project, or Commissioning/Field Engineer, with a strong focus on turbomachinery or rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal compressors, steam turbines).

  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional team environments and a strong customer-oriented mindset.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% globally to support project presentations, bid clarifications, training sessions, and kick-off meetings, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering tools.

  • Preferred experience includes OEM, LNG, or EPC environments; understanding of pricing, costing, equipment selection, and technical/commercial bidding; and international exposure.

  • Additional value through bilingual capabilities (Spanish, Portuguese) and opportunities for personal growth via cross-regional networking and contributing to the Siemens Energy transformation.
