A Snapshot of Your Day
We currently have an opportunity for a Service Engineer to join our team in Tokyo, Japan, supporting mission- critical energy infrastructure across the country. The Service Engineer plays a key role in delivering field service execution, system engineering and digitalization, and customer support and project coordination for control systems, covering commissioning, maintenance, and end-to-end project delivery, while also supporting sales and tendering activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
-Service Engineer with strong capability to execute implementation and site service activities.
-Perform service tasks such as installation, commissioning, upgrades, and routine maintenance independently.
-Troubleshooting activities on site or via remote services to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution and implement corrective actions
-Configuration, testing and implementation of Cyber Security solutions in a secure operational technology (OT) and networks for ultra-high availability environments.
-Coordinates and provides user training on supported systems.
-Participate in Root Cause Analysis; troubleshooting methodology; detailed problem documentation; other requirements in support of Problem Management.
-You shall have the flexibility to work overtime based on workload and work both independently and within a team environment with the ability to lead the team.
-Contributes to customer satisfaction by performing Service work according to customer order and expectation
-Proactively promote innovation, improvements, risk identification and safety management
-Work under the company quality management system and take ownership for HS&E
What You Bring
-Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Controls, IT engineering or equivalent.
-Solid experience, at least 3 – 5 years professional experience in the power plant or industrial sector.
-Strong competencies in DCS, PLC, SCADA control systems applications including system administration (hardware and software).
-Licenses in Electrical/Electronics/Network are preferred.
-Hands-on experience with Siemens PCS7, Step 7/TIA Portal or Omnivise T3000 is essential.
-Good understanding of cyber security solutions and experience with configuring, installing, testing and upgrading industrial controls networks, switches, firewall, remote access solutions.
-Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols for third-party interfaces (OPC, Modbus or DNP3.0).
-Possessing full working rights in Japan and being able to travel for the implementation of site-based projects.
-Excellent technical writing skills with focus on design documents, inspection and test plans and commissioning reports.
-Willingness to travel frequently (domestic and overseas).
-Business-level Japanese required; English proficiency preferred.
-Experience working with Japanese customers or vendors is an advantage.
-Understanding local safety regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
