As a team member of Siemens Energy (SE) Asia Tax Services Centre (ATC) in Malaysia, you will be assigned with a set of global tax support activities which will tap into your level of tax competencies and abilities. To thrive in a dynamic and agile working environment, you are prepared to embrace changes in your scope of work from time to time. In the course of your work, you collaborate closely with the global tax community, accounting and controlling team and business community. You also work with the external tax consultants and liaise with the tax authorities as and when required. In your daily engagement with the respective partners, you identify new opportunity to which ATC can extend further support which will achieve greater efficiency in the organization.

SE ATC supports the global tax functions within Siemens Energy Group, this includes both the headquarter in Germany which handles tax governance and the local tax teams worldwide who are entrusted with the responsibilities to manage the direct and indirect tax compliance works, provision of tax advisory, etc in the respective countries. ATC supports both global and local tax functions as needed, depending on the availability of the required competency and skills.

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to support SE UK’s outbound project advisory and UK tax compliance work. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong analytical skills and a good understanding of tax compliance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the UK tax team and collaborate with various partners to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and reporting in the UK and Ireland.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide tax advisory support to the UK Tax team and businesses in relation to SE UK’s outbound project activities.
• Support the day-to-day tax compliance and tax reporting matters for the assigned SE entities in the UK and Ireland which include the following:
• Indirect Tax returns including those for VAT and relevant construction activities;
• Employee Share Scheme reporting obligations;
• Employment Tax returns for non-monetary benefits;
• UK Withholding tax documentation
• Enquiries and requests from UK tax authorities
• Supports adhoc tax projects when required (e.g. new tax implementation, changes in tax rules, etc)
• Working collaboratively as part of an international tax team and local Malaysian ATC team

What You Bring

• A recognized degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance/Tax field
• Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations. Working experience in the provision of international tax advisory (e.g. cross border project tax advisory, advisory on withholding taxes, value-added taxes or transfer pricing) will be advantageous.
• 3-5 years of experience in the handling of UK / European tax compliance work.
• Good English language proficiency, both verbal and written
• Good communication and partner engagement skills.
• Strong numerical and data analytical skills with high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
