A Snapshot of Your Day

The Regional Sales Proposal Manager within the Siemens Energy Compression business is a key function within the broader sales organisation, responsible for identifying the solution and driving the proposal development process. You will be responsible for achieving the regional sales targets and growth objective along with our high performing regional sales team while developing technical solutions, cost modelling, proposal development, & working with key stakeholders across the entire Siemens Energy global operations organisation.

This role will require close partnerships with our customer relationship teams and shall be the interface into the engineering, supply chain, operations, and global manufacturing product centres. You will create & develop advanced service offerings including Modernisation & Upgrades, Repairs, Field Services, Parts, & Digitalisation solutions across the entire compression portfolio. You will support the entire Europe & Africa organisation while also working in close collaboration with our global operations teams located in the Americas, Africa, Middle East, & Asia Pacific to deliver order entry growth & operational excellence.

This role will report directly to the Global Head of Sales & Bid Management for a segment within the Siemens Energy compression business.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the overall bid and proposal development process for complex projects to standard aftermarket services related to centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, geared compressors, and gas engines – Responsible for understanding customer requirements and developing a technical solution, setting a strategy, identifying and influencing key decision makers; and successfully navigating complex internal & external selling environments.
  • Drive service business growth across core markets, focusing on Modernisation & Upgrades, Repairs, Field Services, Parts, Controls, Service Programs, and Digitalisation.
  • Develop and articulate a unique value proposition while adhering to company growth and profit guidelines through strong business insight.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Siemens Energy stakeholders to create tailored solutions and enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
  • Work closely with management to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to ensure successful implementation across the regional business.
  • Participate and potentially lead Siemens Energy business growth initiatives as needed.
  • Monitor market & industry trend activity.
  • Perform front-end technical evaluations, perform basic calculations, and conduct preliminary design/proposal review meetings to mitigate technical risks.
  • Develop clear technical/commercial proposals and present data to customers (internal and external, as required) to capture profitable business for the company.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Chemical or equivalent) with 5+ years specializing in technical sales, bid management, or business development experience in the oil & gas, power generation, or industrial services business with a proven track record of success across diverse markets.
  • Strong knowledge & diverse background in various compressors or industrial rotating equipment suppliers. Previous experience working for a major rotating equipment supplier is preferred. 
  • Strategically oriented with detailed knowledge of products, services, and markets of centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, or geared compressors with an understanding of compressor performance & application principles.
  • Compressor & System knowledge – 10+ years of firsthand experience in Compressor engineering, including aero & mechanical design, impeller fabrication, rotor construction, seals / bearings / couplings, assembly, testing, installation, servicing and repair of API-617 compressors. System knowledge in lube & seal packages, process controls such as startup, suction throttle, recycle & anti-surge control. 
  • Application knowledge – Ability to “baseline” subject compressor with minimum required data (API datasheets, compressor cross-section). Promptly develop high-level solutions to initiate dialogue with clients.
  • Experience working with multinational organisations and in diverse cultural environments, demonstrating strong intercultural communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills, paired with the ability to develop and implement key deliverables on time and with high quality output.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and comfortable presenting to internal & external Senior Leadership.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate stakeholders across hierarchy levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within the region and internationally, as required.
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages seen as an advantage.
  • Competent in working with PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce.com, & Tableau tools are preferred.
