Position Title: SCO Operator - Production Line
A Snapshot of Your Day
This role is for an experienced Field Operator who will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Combined Cycle Power Plant. The SCO Operator will monitor plant equipment, perform operational rounds, ensure compliance with safety, environmental and operational procedures, and work closely with the Operations Manager, Shift Charge Engineer (SCE), and the wider operations team. The role also contributes to emergency preparedness, continuous improvement initiatives, and the optimization of plant performance in line with Siemens Energy standards and client requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
• Monitor and operate power plant equipment from the observation post in accordance with operational manuals, internal regulations, and safety procedures.
• Work in close collaboration with the Operations Manager and Shift Charge Engineer to ensure compliance with quality specifications and environmental standards defined in the operating license.
• Conduct regular shift rounds, identify operational deviations, and prepare clear and accurate reports for supervisors.
• Perform periodic testing of operational and safety systems, including firefighting systems and Emergency Diesel Generators, to ensure plant readiness at all times.
• Actively participate in the reception, unloading, and handling of raw materials required for plant operation.
• Support emergency response activities in line with the site Emergency Plan and take appropriate actions during abnormal or emergency situations.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture by ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Contribute to operational excellence initiatives, continuous improvement, and technology upgrades to optimize plant performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless plant operations.
What You Bring
• Advanced Technician Certificate, University Diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process Chemistry disciplines.
• Proven experience in operation or maintenance within a power plant or industrial production environment.
• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, with the ability to foster a safe and collaborative working environment.
• Good communication skills with the ability to report operational issues clearly and make constructive improvement suggestions.
• First aid and firefighting skills are considered an advantage.
• Professional working proficiency in French and English.
