A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Operational Buyer you will be responsible for purchase order creation in our ERP system (SAP) and sending it to the supplier.

You will be a member of the Services Procurement organization that is responsible for developing procurement strategies for direct materials that will ensure the optimization of Siemens Energy’s strong position. As you will be working and communicating with Spanish-speaking colleagues and predominantly English-speaking suppliers, the English and Spanish language is a very important characteristic for us.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define purchasing strategy
  • Supply in the best conditions of price and delivery time
  • Compliance with Siemens Energy purchasing policies and KPIs
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with sales, execution, quality, financial and occupational risk prevention teams
  • Follow up on purchase orders and keep requesters informed
  • Experience in supplier management
  • Actively contribute to cooperation with all other parties involved and relay all relevant information to improve the flow of material and value through the supply chain
  • Review of the annual shutdown plan in Spain and Portugal in order to define the purchasing strategy to be followed
  • Supplier management, negotiation of framework agreements and drafting of contracts
  • Achievement of KPIs according to business objectives
  • Search for new sources of supply and coordination of scopes with other countries for pooling activities
  • Collaboration with the operational purchasing area in order to issue and follow up purchase orders

What You Bring

  • Previous SAP experience in Purchase Order Creation.
  • Good integration with other operational colleagues located in Spain.
  • Good communication and proactivity behavior.
  • Customer Focus
  • Follow internal purchase order approval workflow.
  • Supplier communication about new purchase order
  • Maintain all the documents archived according to business requirements.
  • Some knowledge & interest in procurement related roles (Project Procurement Manager, Project Manager, Financial Área, Accounting)
  • Ability to facilitate and develop a collaborative approach beyond your own organizational unit & function.
  • Understanding when and who to involve for assistance if required.
  • Ability to identify point of improvements.
  • Basic knowledge about procurement activities: Purchase to pay, material master data base, supplier data base, order confirmation, supplier quotations, clients orders, accounting.
  • Basic understanding about purchase to pay process.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Adherence to process requirements in terms of compliance, is aware of the Business Conduct Guidelines and applies them in the day-to-day work.
  • Proponent of asking questions and look for data that helps identify and differentiate symptoms and root causes of defined problem to suggest corrective measures that meet the needs of the situation and those directly affected.
  • Excellent Spanish and English language skills.
  • No travel
