A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Manufacturing Engineer working within our Gas Turbine Components team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of advanced manufacturing. Your day will be filled with problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation — defining and improving processes that bring precision components to life. You’ll use your expertise in machining, NC programming, and tooling design to ensure every part meets the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. Whether developing new routings, programming multi-axis machines, or engaging with design and quality teams, your work will directly contribute to Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering reliable, sustainable power to the world.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Define and develop manufacturing processes for gas turbine components and sub-assemblies.

  • Create and maintain supporting documentation, including manufacturing routings, layouts, and work instructions.

  • Program NC machines for multi-axis turning, milling, grinding, and EDM operations.

  • Utilize Siemens NX (CAD & CAM), Vericut, SAP, and Microsoft Office tools to optimize design and production.

  • Investigate and resolve non-conformances using root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • Define and procure manufacturing aids such as jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauges, and lifting equipment.

  • Perform inspection activities and generate non-conformance and process inspection reports.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Assembly, Quality, Procurement, and external suppliers to ensure production success.

  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and process efficiency improvements.

  • Champion a safe working environment and ensure all activities comply with current Health & Safety legislation.

  • Apply LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance workflow, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of an HNC qualification (or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of modern machining and manufacturing processes, including NC programming, tooling, and fixture design.

  • Experience within a low-volume, high-accuracy manufacturing environment such as aerospace or power generation.

  • Demonstrated ability to use Siemens NX (CAD/CAM) and Vericut for part and toolpath modeling, with familiarity in SAP and standard Microsoft Office applications.

  • Understanding of LEAN principles, continuous improvement, and efficient production techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured approach to root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Motivation to drive quality, safety, and performance across all aspects of manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with various NC machine controls such as Fanuc, Yasnac, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol, Makino (Easygrind), and AGIE EDM is highly beneficial.
