The logistics trainee is responsible for follow-up to transport coordination and follow-up to import and/or export process, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of logistics and transportation activities (including oversea shipments).

  • Follow- up to process of import and export shipments.

  • Responsible to prepare documents as part of each movement.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of logistics and transportation strategies (to stablish action plan & corrective actions to assure that the requirements are met).

  • Follow- up to international inbound traffic.

  • Auditing & reporting the billing process for each service.

  • Support any investigation for damage freight claims to ensure cost recovery and take corrective action with carrier.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Report and monitoring of extraordinary freight.

  • Follow-up with customs agents on the application of the IMMEX, PROSEC, and international free trade agreements.

  • Supporting to customs area to provide the information for the determination of the correct Harmonized Tariff Code for import & expo goods and origin´s certificates.

  • Follow up on the transit process of materials and components from the supplier's plant to their entry into the company.

  • Collaborate with monthly reports of performance to freight budget and support to create corrective actions if necessary.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Logistics, International Trade or related.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with logistics process import and export (knowledge in overseas shipments).

  • Basic Knowledge of traffic rules, regulations, and processes governing the movement of domestic and international freight, NAFTA, customs law, certificates of origin, industry trends and practices and IMMEX, OEA & CTPAT.

  • SAP

  • Intermediate English

  • Intermediate Excel

  • Experience in using transportation software.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and customer orientation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.


About the Team

The traffic trainee reports to the traffic coordinator and is involved in internal areas such as CS, Quality, Engineering, WH and finance, also with other Siemens Energy plants related to the supply chain. Works externally with suppliers and carriers.
