A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Global Commodity Manager for Critical Raw Materials you are part of our corporate global strategic procurement team. You will shape the value chain for critical raw materials – those essential to Siemens Energy’s technology and supply chain resilience. You will lead the development and execution of a global commodity strategy for strategic and critical raw materials such as Lithium, Iridium, rare earths, Nickel, Cobalt and others, ensuring transparency and security across the value chain, cost competitiveness and sustainability. You collaborate closely with the Commodity managers and buyers of products across all business entities that use such critical raw materials.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the global owner for both direct and indirect (n-tier) spend related to critical raw materials across all Siemens Energy entities
- Establish transparency regarding the utilization, demand, and value chains of critical raw materials within Siemens Energy products and throughout the entire supply chain up to the mines
- Develop and implement a comprehensive commodity strategy aimed at building diverse, resilient, robust, regional and sustainable value chains
- Serve as the subject matter expert on critical raw materials and its markets across Siemens Energy, providing strategic consultation and support for executive and board-level inquiries
- Establish an internal network for Critical Raw Materials with key partners across the different functions and SE entities and manage the external network of suppliers and industry partners
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while capitalizing on opportunities arising from geopolitical, regulatory or market changes
What You Bring
- University degree or equivalent experience in engineering, materials science or business with extensive experience in procurement or consulting - preferably in metals or mining
- Deep understanding of commodity markets, value chain dynamics and sustainability challenges related to critical raw materials
- Ability to operate in different cultures and in a functional matrix environment
- Outstanding communication, presentation and partner management skills
- Strategic approach with analytical rigor
- German and English language skills
