A Snapshot of Your Day
Being part of the Grid Automation team, you have the technical responsibility for successful execution of planning and engineering deliverables of the network and cybersecurity topics for HV&MV substation control systems. You will develop technical solutions, comment on customer specifications and engineering standards, check and ensure compliance. Teamwork with Project Management, other domain experts in the team, and suppliers in the field of secondary control systems, is your key to success. The projects you are working on are located all around the world with a special focus on German speaking market.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Specify and manage communication systems for substation automation projects, ensuring seamless integration and security.
- Develop concept diagrams and network architectures for MV and HV substations, implementing advanced cybersecurity measures for industrial networks.
- Prepare technical and commercial offers for customers, providing expert guidance in your field.
- Configure and test active and passive network elements and Lead Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure system reliability.
- Create project-specific technical documentation, including functional design specifications, test protocols, and cybersecurity reports.
- Research and evaluate new technical solutions to drive innovation in the test field.
What You Bring
- A completed degree in electrical engineering, automation, IT, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in engineering and configuration of network systems for control systems and energy transmission & distribution.
- Proven experience securing IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, and SIPROTEC-based environments, including substation automation and SCADA integration.
- Expertise in designing segmented network topologies (DMZ, VLANs, firewalls).
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols used in automation systems (IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850).
- Advanced English communication skills; German proficiency is an advantage.
