CAD Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our new cutting edge Panel Build facility in Newcastle. As a CAD Engineer, you will collaborate with the cubicle design team and report to the team coordinator. Your main tasks include updating Mechanical and Electrical CAD drawings using AutoCAD, interpreting engineers’ mark-ups, and ensuring all changes meet predefined standards. You’ll design and manage the production of wire ID ferrules and labels for electrical panels and cabinets, maintaining high accuracy and resolving queries with engineers. You will update revision data, work with Document Control Systems, and issue drawings through IT systems. Additionally, you support engineering tasks, check drawings for label consistency, manage the production of ferrules and labels, and perform general IT administration. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities help you coordinate effectively with various departments and contribute to continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make an Impact

·       AutoCAD  – Creating drawings to engineer’s sketches / markups etc.

·       Issue drawings via our IT/Document Management Systems which creates automatic Transmittals and Drawing lists on request.

·       Engineering Support – Using IT/Document Management Systems to download and print drawings, use customer IT system to obtain Master drawings.

·       Design and manage production of Ferrule tags and labels from CAD drawings,

·       Purchasing/production of ferrule/labels

·       Checking of General arrangement drawings against schemes for label consistency

·       The applicant is expected to have excellent organisational skills and to be familiar with effective filing. They must have the ability to monitor and evaluate systems and to look for improvements.

·       Good communication skills are important to be able to co-ordinate the organisation’s different departments. Additionally, an understanding of the organisation’s business matters is crucial to be able to identify and control documents effectively.

What You Bring

·       AutoCAD  proficient

·       Engineering Base experience

·       High standard of IT literacy – Word, Excel, etc

·       Having interpersonal skills.

·       Being able to work with one or more teams.

·       Having high attention to details.

·       Having strong organisation skills and work to strict deadlines

·       Being flexible and proactive.

·       Good written and spoken communication abilities.
