Siemens Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Project Procurement Manager / Procurement coordinator to join our Aero derivative Gas Turbine business! The position will be based out of our Houston facility and as a PPM you will be responsible for integrating Procurement into the project management process and project teams from the ‘bid’ phase through to execution. This individual will coordinate, control, and lead all aspects of Procurement activities within the projects and introduce Procurement strategies targeting maximum contribution to the operating result.
This position will work with our ‘New Unit Package Procurement team to support them through the lifecycle. Key areas of importance and focus will be cost competitiveness, quality of bid information, development of responsiveness targets, and improvements under the agreed customer requirements using standard tools and methods.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the coordinator for all AGT New Unit Package Procurement activities across the business.
- Be responsible for the Project Procurement Manager activities across the function.
- Support sales activities during the offer phase for opportunities involving high-voltage equipment.
- Participate in project/sales meetings as a project core team member to provide information about the supply market, preferred suppliers, and supplier innovation
- Control Procurement resources and activities in the project and advise all involved within Procurement to deliver optimum impact for the business (Procurement plan, target-costing) relating to budget, availability, timeline, and quality. Apply Procurement regulations as per Compliance, organization standards, and PMO.
- Analyze scope of supply, and contractual obligations and understand customer’s functional needs. Identify Procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, claims, and market forces for the entire project, together with Commodity Management, to avoid potential damage/exploitation.
- Support project bid preparation /calculation with reliable and up-to-date cost data.
- Ensure that Procurement risks, changes to the original scope of supply, and potential claims (towards customers and suppliers) are covered in invalid contracts.
- Proactively ensure Supplier on-time delivery and provide status transparency to internal stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or equivalent experience, complemented by relevant expertise in a related industry.
- Gas Turbine Package Experience Highly Desirable
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in Project Management & Procurement
- Proven results in achieving growing value and significant savings for stakeholders and customers.
- Have a desire to work at the intersection of digital transformation, business processes, and commercial relations. You are curious and eager to learn even complex matters. You think creatively, challenge the status quo, and supply with innovative ideas.
- A driven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills while possessing the ability to influence and constructively challenge cross-functional project teams and business partners to achieve project goals.
- Strong abilities in gaining marketplace intelligence and communicating the commercial impact of such information back to internal decision-makers for timely resolution.
- Strong presentation, leadership, and project management skills.
- Experience analyzing proposals/bid packages and conducting supplier analysis.
