Siemens Energy is investing over $1 billion in the U.S. and is building a brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art Large Power Transformer factory in Charlotte, NC. This first‑of‑its‑kind U.S. facility expands our existing Charlotte campus and offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team and help launch a brand‑new production facility.

A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a Winding Assembler to join our transformer manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll help build and finish transformer windings that support safe and reliable power.

You will assemble winding parts, perform finishing work, complete required paperwork, and check your work to make sure it meets quality and safety standards. This is a hands‑on role that requires attention to detail and a strong focus on working safely.

As you progress in your role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assemble, finish, and handle transformer winding blocks, including use of overhead cranes, forklifts, and welding as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings; verify winding alignment, tolerances, and perform measurements and inspections.
  • Prepare winding blocks for drying and pressing operations in accordance with manufacturing standards.
  • Execute work according to production plans, schedules, and established manufacturing procedures.
  • Support and maintain technical documentation and standard work instructions for winding assembly processes.
  • Train and mentor new team members and ensure full compliance with EHS, Quality, Cybersecurity, and company policies.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent manufacturing experience (minimum 3 years) will be considered in place of formal education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in winding block assembly for medium or large power transformers is required.
  • Ability to perform basic math, read and interpret complex drawings, and take precise measurements.
  • Must be able to successfully complete KEYS certification (reading, writing, and blueprint reading) through a local community college.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including Forklift License, Critical Lift crane certification, and working-at-heights certification.
  • Must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function testing.
  • Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, NC (comprehensive relocation package provided).
  • Willingness to participate in temporary international training (approximately 3 months) at a global company location such as Mexico, Brazil, China, or Germany.
    • Training includes full relocation support, housing, transportation, continuation of regular pay, a weekly stipend, and a $4,000 bonus upon successful completion of advanced training.
