A Snapshot of Your Day

Alignment Mechanics begin their normal working week Friday - Sunday (5:30 pm- 6:00 am). Once clocked in, they put on designated safety gear and proceed to their work area. After completing these tasks, the mechanic will look over their job assignments for the day, ensuring materials, tools and traceability requirements have all been reviewed and are available before starting work.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform turbine assembly, alignment, blading, seal installation/removal, welding, fabrication, and component adjustments.
  • Operate material handling equipment and cranes for product movement, loading/unloading, and critical lifts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Use computers to retrieve, record, and review product data and manufacturing information.
  • Measure, calculate, and verify dimensions, tolerances, and product quality using precision measuring tools.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and clean manual machining equipment (Bridgeport, lathe, grinders, etc.), including deburring finished products.

What You Bring 

  • 1-3 years of experience in turbine assembly, mechanical maintenance, machining, fabrication, or a related industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing turbine assembly operations including alignment, blading, seal installation/removal, welding, fabrication, and mechanical component adjustments.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and overhead cranes, including product movement, loading/unloading, and critical lift activities.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, charts, and work instructions.
  • Capable of using precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, micrometers, and related tools) to verify dimensions, tolerances, and product quality.
  • Experience setting up and operating manual machine tools such as lathes, Bridgeport mills, grinders, and similar equipment.
  • Proficient with computers for retrieving, recording, and reviewing product data and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently, follow instructions, and maintain high quality standards.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
