Siemens Energy is seeking a proactive and well experienced Vendor Relationship Manager to join our People Systems and Services department within Siemens Energy HR. This role plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing vendor relationships to support the company's strategic HR goals. This position involves crafting comprehensive vendor overviews as well as developing and implementing a vendor management framework from scratch, including outsourcing and decision frameworks. The Vendor Relationship Manager is responsible for aligning with procurement on contract frameworks, like default clauses and contractual penalties, to ensure vendor compliance and performance. Key responsibilities include supporting Requests for Information (RfI) and Requests for Proposal (RfP) projects, participating in vendor negotiations to secure favorable terms, and managing vendor risk through the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies. As a Vendor Relationship Manager at Siemens Energy, your day is dynamic and impactful, filled with opportunities to collaborate, analyze, and drive meaningful cooperations with external vendors. How You will Make an Impact
- Create comprehensive vendor overview: Develop and maintain an exhaustive database of existing vendors, ensuring up-to-date and detailed profiles that facilitate informed decision-making.
- Establish robust contractual structures: Formulate and enforce contract frameworks with default clauses and penalties to ensure compliance and performance from new suppliers, safeguarding the company's interests in close collaboration with procurement.
- Design strategic decision frameworks: Create and implement sophisticated frameworks for vendor selection that align seamlessly with strategic HR objectives, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Orchestrate RfI and RfP initiatives: Accompany the execution of Requests for Information and Proposals, meticulously evaluating vendor submissions to identify the best fit for the organization.
- Engage in negotiations: Participate in critical vendor negotiations to secure the most advantageous terms and conditions, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Mitigate vendor risks proactively: Identify potential risks in vendor relationships and develop comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate them, ensuring vendor reliability and performance.
- Vendor Key Account: Serve as the primary point of contact for specific vendors, ensuring seamless and effective communication and collaboration, and fostering strong, long-term partnerships.
What You Bring
- Academic background: Strong academic background, preferably a Master’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Senior experience: Demonstrated senior-level experience in vendor management, procurement, legal or project management, preferably within the HR domain.
- Exceptional communication skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of effectively accompanying and moderating negotiations and decision-making processes.
- People skills: Display strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and networking abilities, to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
- Language proficiency: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
