A Snapshot of Your Day

Are you a Mechanical Designer with a passion for innovation and a curiosity for problem-solving? Siemens Energy is on the hunt for a dedicated individual ready to join our Turbine Design department in the Large Gat Turbine engineering division. This is an opportunity to apply your skills to develop ground breaking design solutions and concepts for turbine parts, using the latest 3D CAD systems. The Mechanical Designer will be immersed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A typical day will start with a cup of coffee and a meeting with the team to discuss the progress and challenges of ongoing projects. Then dive into creative work, developing design solutions for turbine parts using top-tier 3D CAD systems. You'll flex your analytical muscles to assess designs from functional, manufacturing, and cost perspectives, and construct intricate 3D CAD parametric models for multi-disciplinary design optimization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Bring creative design solutions to life for turbine parts using the best-in-class 3D CAD systems. Put your analytical hat on to evaluate designs from functional, manufacturing, and cost perspectives.
  • Create dynamic 3D CAD parametric models for MDO (multi-disciplinary design optimization) and craft intricate 3D geometry models, layouts, and PMI or 2D drawings for product definition.
  • Be the go-to person for product design teams, providing advice on mechanical design issues and product definition standards.
  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary team to ensure product optimization in accordance with comprehensive design requirements, contributing to the greater vision of Siemens Energy.
  • Support the planning of product definition tasks and manufacturing support efforts, showing your organizational prowess.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in design engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field; a lower technical degree with substantial work experience in product development and design may also be used.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a portfolio to showcase your expertise; experience in component design, stack-up analysis, and geometric product specification.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX 3D CAD system - show us what you can create! Working knowledge of MS Office, Siemens PLM Teamcenter, SAP R/3 or S/4 Hana.
  • High degree of proactive, analytical, organizational and communication. Intercultural experience (USA, Germany, India) preferred; we value a global perspective.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
