A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Turbine Installation Field Engineer, your day is focused on leading the on‑site mechanical erection and centerline alignment of new steam turbines that support unit growth across North America. You independently manage complex technical execution, solve challenging issues involving large rotating equipment, and coordinate closely with field crews and contractors. Throughout all activities, you ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and engineering standards to deliver efficient, high‑quality turbine installations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the complete on-site mechanical erection and centerline alignment of large-scale steam turbines, ensuring precision, performance, and long-term reliability.
- Serve as the primary on-site technical authority during installation, commissioning, and start-up, resolving complex mechanical challenges to keep projects on schedule.
- Install and integrate critical auxiliary systems—including lubrication, hydraulic, and control systems—to ensure seamless turbine operation.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, customers, and contractors to drive efficient execution while managing site logistics, resources, and tooling.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and quality by enforcing site regulations, conducting inspections, and addressing non-conformances.
- Document installation progress, quality metrics, and technical issues with accuracy and clarity to support successful project closeout.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, strengthening field capability and reinforcing best practices in turbine erection.
What you Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5–8 years of hands-on field service experience installing, erecting, or commissioning large rotating equipment such as steam or gas turbines.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering expertise, including commissioning processes, test equipment, and the engineering design process.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently in demanding field environments.
- A disciplined approach to quality, with solid experience in quality assurance, quality control, and analytical problem solving.
- Effective workflow and project execution skills to manage priorities in dynamic on-site conditions.
- Strong interpersonal, customer-facing, and influencing skills to collaborate with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
