A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy is looking to add a Tooling Development Engineer to our tooling development team at the Pittsburgh Service Center! As part of this team, your workday will mirror the fluid dynamic of our operations where the focus of the business needs determines daily priorities. You may be working through designing a simple hand operated tool in CAD modeling for an upcoming maintenance task or working with a team testing out an inspection sequence in our workshop. You will have the opportunity to integrate with different disciplines to apply integrated mechanical systems to new and unconventional situations related to service on power generation equipment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design, develop, and optimize tools and tooling systems related to service power plant service applications.
- Develop and update operating procedures as requested as part of lessons learned and tooling development.
- Deploy to various sites to conduct testing and training with new tools.
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
What You Bring
- BS in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Physics or a related field (MS/PhD a plus!). 5+ years of related work experience.
- Requires the ability to collaborate with project stakeholders during development of project requirements, through prototype testing and commercialization.
- Experience using CAD software for part modeling, analysis, and development.
- Experience and ability to create blue print mechanical drawings and system schematics.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
