A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The primary purpose of this position is to perform welding and repair tooling, maintain torches and hoppers in optimum operational conditions, control tooling, torches and hoppers pool rotation, and operate a variety of equipment in the Thermal Spray Department with minimal supervision.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Welding repair of thermal spray tooling.
  • Assemble thermal spray tooling.
  • Maintain in optimum operational conditions the thermal spray tooling, grit blast tooling, and shot peen tooling pools.
  • Keep in optimum operational conditions torches and hoppers pools.
  • Use of documentation (quality documentation/records (Travelers and Forms) / etc.)
  • Must be able to properly set up welding stations and machinery to perform welding.
  • Prep and polish areas requiring welding.
  • Belt sand/blend tooling.
  • Able to remove excess weld and grit blast

What You Bring (requirements)

  • This position requires a high school education or equivalent.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, complete simple forms, and understand simple written instructions.
  • Requires the ability to perform math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; also requires the simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, or diagrams.
  •  Must have 2 years minimum experience equivalent in Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG).
  •  Must demonstrate proficiency in one of the following welding processes: A. Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) B. Metal inert gas welding (MIG) C. Shielded metal arc welding (ARC) D. Gas metal arc welding
  •  Must demonstrate the ability to set up and operate related welding equipment to perform any or all of the specified welding applications.
  • Physical Demand: Moderate Working Conditions: Possible contact with coating materials, fumes, and chemicals. Standard conditions for welding activities

Certifications

       Must have successfully completed a certified welding curriculum resulting in a vocational diploma or must have 2 years minimum experience equivalent in Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG).

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
