A Snapshot of Your Day

Working in the Orlando office, you will be a project lead for a global team of steam turbine engineers to support and implement Customer Order Engineering (COE) for large steam turbine modernization, new apparatus (NA), and R&D projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the ST Mods Tendering team during the project tendering phase.
  • Support review of the project input documents – contract, scope of supply, TLOA, MPPS. Provide clear communication of the project/contractual requirements to the engineering team.
  • Technical point of contact working with thermal, blading, rotor, and stationary component engineers and drafters.
  • Track and lead the budget, schedule, and resources for each assigned project.
  • Perform technical clarifications within the project team and with project management.
  • Expedite vital activities within the engineering team, as required.
  • Ensure on time engineering releases, achievements, and software work are met.
  • Participate in monthly COE project review meetings.
  • Plan, lead, and participate in internal and customer design review meetings.
  • Participate in lessons learned and QIS processes, as required.

What You Bring

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior energy experience preferred
  • Prior steam and/or gas turbine design knowledge
  • Familiarity with the Siemens Energy PDP process
  • Desire and technical ability to understand the design of our ST products, how features impact design for manufacturability, material selection, and product cost
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SAP OPP and Quality Notifications (QNs), CAD tools are desired
  • Approachable, organized, active listener, clear communicator, collaborative, customer-focused
  • Must be legally authorized for employment in the USA without the need for current or future employer sponsored work authorization.

About the Team

The Team consists of COE and R&D functions, as well as tendering functions required to implement our large utility steam turbine projects. Projects range from R&D, major modernization/upgrades, to new unit. Steam Turbine Engineers are involved in all phases of our projects, beginning with proposals to customers, detailed design, hardware/software production, testing and ending with site installation and turnover to the customer.
