A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Power Transformer Technical Expert at our new Transformers Repair Center at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in technical advising the management team for the entire repair process. This position requires a deep understanding of large power transformers and will also be a technical liaison between customers and the repair center, performing technical analysis, caring out condition assessment to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.

 


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop technical proposals and presentations for customers.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and quotations, ensuring technical accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Conduct customer visits to understand their needs and provide tailored technical solutions.
  • Perform power transformer technical evaluation, including on customer sites, and provide reports with repair recommendations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues related to large power transformers.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize production processes and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff on large power transformers and related technologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices to enhance the team’s knowledge base.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent in engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the power transformer industry (engineering, sales, project management, field engineer, services). Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Proven experience in power transformers engineering, offer and order management within a manufacturing, industrial or service environment, with familiarity with the technical specifications of the market.
  • Demonstrate experience in transformer condition assessment including deviation/failure investigation.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
  • Effective co-ordination with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
  • Experience with Engineering software’s, SAP & Salesforce is an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel up to 15 %.
  • If not local to the Charlotte, NC area, the candidate must be willing to relocate
