A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as the Team Lead – Procurement, where you will take charge of leading and coordinating procurement and sourcing activities for large-scale, complex substation projects across North America. Imagine combining hands-on project procurement execution with team leadership, supplier strategy, and commercial negotiation. You will drive sourcing strategies, evaluate suppliers, manage contracts, and oversee supplier performance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical and quality requirements. Your day will involve reviewing supplier proposals, aligning sourcing decisions with project management, resolving escalations, and coaching your team on effective procurement practices.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team supporting complex transmission and substation projects.
  • Drive end-to-end project procurement activities, including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract awards.
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Logistics, and Finance to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and evaluate supplier performance, capabilities, and financial health to maximize value.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks while delivering cost optimization and value-creation initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary procurement escalation point and ensure compliance with Siemens Energy policies, governance standards, and continuous improvement objectives.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years, or Master’s degree with 6+ years, of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in procurement, sourcing, commodity management, or project procurement environments with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Experience working with supporting transmission, substation, switchgear, transformer, EPC, utility, or other large capital infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and complex supply chain challenges.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen, including cost and supplier assessments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Experience supporting transmission, substation, or large infrastructure projects preferred; SAP/ERP experience and certifications (CPSM, CPM, APICS, PMP) are a plus.
  • Willing to travel up to 10-15% domestically and on occasion internationally
