A Snapshot of Your Day
The successful candidate’s role will be responsible for supporting all efforts in the US Market related to data center Substations Sales in Grid Technologies. They will capture North America's market intelligence, support and implement strategic initiatives to grow and develop Siemens Energy’s on the Data Center market, by growing the presence on established DC customers as well as increase the portfolio of customers. You will report directly to the US Head of Substation Sales and work closely with other SE teams, to keep everyone informed to set up the organization for secure the growth of the DC solution business! Drive increased scope and profitability on DC projects to bring in opportunities for other Siemens Energy Business areas related to Substations Business such as, but not limited to, Service and Digital!
How You’ll Make an Impact
Business Development:
- Support the implementation of strategies for profitable penetration into new or existing DC customers.
- Makes presentations to key customers on a technical level as and when required
- Guides business development within assigned key accounts and new customers
- Guides procurement & execution to establish strategic partnerships with vendors by early engagement
- Provides accurate forecasting and data quality via salesforce for assigned DC opportunities both internally for resource planning and to our factories
- Engages with DC vertical local and global to secure implementation of SE global and local DC strategies
Proposals:
- Follows internal process for actual key proposals and drives both the technical solution as well as the final price.
- Follows and carries out the LoA internal approval process for assigned proposal.
- Owns the negotiation phase of the assigned proposal by driving robustness in Siemens Energy’s contracts.
- Supports the Tender manager with the handover process of the project to the project team when the project has been awarded
- Support other team members for their specific proposals and customer presentations in alignment with Head of Substation Business sales
Employee Development / Engagement:
- Responsible to coordinate and collaborate with other subject areas in a team centric approach to improve the DC market knowledge within grid solutions and implement our market strategy.
- Responsible to be engaged in a collaborative way with the other departments (vertical team, engineering, tendering, PM, procurement etc.)
After Sales
- Responsible to capture with the team and implement lessons learned on the DC market and apply them to new proposals.
- Provides technical/commercial support to the project teams as needed during project execution from experience with DC customers and the bid phase.
- Maintains Customer engagement through life of project via periodic check ins.
What You Bring
- 5 + years of successful business development or sales experience in Grid Technology business, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven business insight in balancing customer and business requirements, i.e. financials strategic and tactical thinking etc.
- Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong desire to win
- Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Travel up to 30%
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
